The location was easy and the room was fancy and well-designed. The food was good with a good choice of alternatives. Location: the hotel was so close to old town and main attractions, the center of town and the shop opposite the b.

I had a wonderful experience staying at B&B La Ducale. The location was fantastic, right in the heart of the city and easily accessible to all the attractions. The room was bright and airy, and I was pleasantly surprised by the cleanliness and comfort. Although there were a few minor issues like a broken window lock and some noise from the wooden floors, they did not greatly impact my stay. The staff, while not very talkative, were friendly and accommodating. Additionally, the breakfast, although not included, was reasonably priced and had a good selection. I would definitely recommend staying at this B&B for its great location and comfortable accommodations.

Warm welcome from the proprietor, nice room and enjoyable breakfast. Gent is well worth a visit, has some beautiful buildings, churches etc and overall we had a very good stay.
As we were driving it wasn't well located for cheap parking and it was difficult finding somewhere to park close by to drop off luggage.

The location was perfect for city-visit
The whole house was in a terrible condition, windows were almost rotten, the mould smeld everywhere and tha old house was very noisy, you could here all the steps fron the stairs and the upper floor. This location should not be in use any more and not in the Booked.net files.

The hotel is a great value for money, with reasonable prices and attention to detail. Its location near the center of town is a huge plus, allowing for easy exploration of the beautiful surroundings. The staff members are friendly and provide excellent service, making the stay a pleasant experience. The rooms are quite comfortable, even with the window open, and offer a nice view from the balcony outside the bedroom window. Additionally, the breakfast, although with limited toppings, is a satisfying start to the day.
The lack of tea and coffee in the room.

My husband and I stayed at La Ducale for two nights. The host Leo is fantastic! He could point out all the great sites in Ghent. This b&b is in a great location! All the major sites are right around the corner. It is easy to get to La Ducale from the train station. The tram drops you off at the back of the building. The room was cozy and the bed was very comfortable. My husband and I had the back room...it was nice and quiet. Breakfast was simple but good.
It can be a little noisy in the hall outside your door. It is an older building and the floors are squeaky. The rooms are in the process of being repaired so don't expect a picture perfect room. Mind your step getting out of the shower...there are no shower curtains and it is a big step. Three of the four rooms at La Ducale are three flights up.

It is really next to the center and the room is the cheapest in town. It is authentic house. The owner is really sympathic.
The breakfast wasn't really good and there is some elements not finished in the room (electricity ...). You have to pay in advance and onny in cash (no credit card).

Lovely place to stay, rooms were clean and of a good standard and comfortable. Breakfast was ready on the table at the time we specified. Good location for visiting the sights in Gent, easy walking distance of the cathedrals and river. Friendly owners who spoke very good English and able to advise you on places to go.
No bad points about the hotel just thought I should add that its a little difficult to find, its just a blue front door no big sign outside saying b&b or anything so as we drove past the satnav was saying you have reached your destination but we couldn't see it from the car. Better to park first and find it on foot by looking at the house numbers as you can't really stop and leave your car as its a tram route.

Nice owner of the 3-4 rooms, very friendly and tried to serve best possible breakfast under existing features!
Very difficult to find while only small award. - Very old house with deep steps till 3rd floor and no lift - nothing for handicaped people! - Owner was not installed to accept credit card or ONLY CASH (in advance!). - Absolutely to high price with € 75.00 for this B & B! No parking on the road and loud because of tramway and Restaurants.

Complementary bikes and breakfast were the best! We enjoyed cycling around the city and the beautiful views that came with it. the hotel was in the heart of the city making it easy to walk to various attractions.
The room could have been better maintained. the bathroom needed some work and the curtains had a few holes.

The bed and pillows were comfortable. The room, (at the back), was quiet.
It's position for unloading luggage - we had to park outside La Ducale's door on the tram lines to unload and had to keep moving the car to allow the trams to pass. On entering the hallway our first impression was of a dirty and untidy property in need of a lot of maintenance. This was confirmed by the following points - 1.Two flights of steep stairs with no lifts and inadequate lighting and a further 5 steps down into our room after opening the bedroom door; 2. The lock on the bedroom door was faulty; 3. The electrics were unsafe - sockets hanging out the wall on their wires; 4. Holes in walls and ceiling; 5. No shower curtain over bath; 6. Shampoo and soap supplied were already open and part used; 7. The television didn't work and although a fridge was provided it was left in the middle of the floor 8. Unrefridgerated yoghurts and uncovered pots of jam for breakfast were placed out the night before; 9. At breakfast cheese and ham, uncovered, were placed out on plates with flies buzzing about; 10. There were 2 cannisters which were meant for holding cereals which only had a covering of corn flakes and muesli grains; 11. Two cups on tables were badly cracked. If this b & b were in England I believe the inspectors would have closed it down.

The owner was fantastic, so helpful and friendly. The bed was comfortable, and the breakfast was very good.
A little overpriced at 80 euros a night at a b&b but no complaints other than that.
